5 Weeks

Where is the time going? Here is our little 5 week old boy. I got this swing for my baby shower with Ethan and it is so fun that I have been able to use it for all 4 of my kids. I think Ethan used it the most; he liked being in it more than the other kids.

Emmett isn't too fond of the swing; he mostly likes to be held (and there is no shortage of willing people to hold him around here.) He is content in the swing here though - for now.

We sure love this little guy and are SO grateful he is part of our FOREVER family!!!!

School Fun Fair

The afternoon after Linz' birthday party the boys had a Fun Fair at their school. It was cute and fun. They had carnival games that they earned tickets with and this is what (surprise) they BOTH picked out!!! In wonderful carnival prize fashion the first hammer broke within an hour of being home.

They had fun with them for the afternoon and even Emmett got to try it out...
Caught ya Luke!!!!!!!!!! I just had to include this picture - that's what he gets for even putting it on. He does make a cute mermaid, don't you think????

Wonderful Babysitter......

Isn't Ethan a great babysitter.....

As long as he gets to play Xbox while "watching" Emmett....
No really, Ethan is a GREAT helper!!!! He will often hold Emmett while he reads a book or plays Xbox.

He is SO good to hold Emmett for me when I need one more minute to finish something up. Ethan loves to hold Em first thing in the morning and is always quick to steal him from me when he gets home from school. He loves to make Em smile and he has even changed a few diapers for me.

The first time he changed Em's diaper, I didn't even ask him to. He was holding Emmett and the next thing I know, he is in Em's room changing his diaper. I've "jokingly" asked him before if he wants to change Em's diaper and he has always declined; so it was SO SWEET when he changed a diaper without me even asking him to.

I am SO blessed to have such wonderful kids and great helpers. Luke is good with Emmett too, but Emmett is still a little heavy for Luke to carry around.

AND......It's never too early to start with the male bonding time and introducing the little guy to video games.

Emmett is 1 Month

Time sure does fly. My little guy is one month old now!!!! We have most definitely enjoyed every second of his life with us so far.

Emmett is a wonderful baby, he sleeps well at night, is FUN to cuddle, is super cute and puts up with all of us all over him all the time.

We sure love this little guy and look forward to the rest of eternity with him.

I bought this monkey as part of the crib set I got for Emmett. The kids named him Brownie and he sits in Emmett's room. So, I figured he would be the best "measuring tool" I could have for taking a growth picture of Emmett every month. This is what I have so far.

Can you tell the difference between Em at one week and one month???? I know I can.

My Cute Luke

Luke has been SO cute with Emmett and loves being a big brother (again.)

One of Luke's favorite things to say lately is "Mom, I don't like Emmett, I LOVE EMMETT." It always makes me cringe when he says the first part, but then I just smile when I hear that last part. I LOVE Emmett too buddy!!!

The other thing Luke has been saying a lot lately is that he wished I would have had three babies instead of just one. I guess he doesn't like taking turns holding Emmett and he actually thinks he'd get to hold a baby more often if I had had THREE of them instead of just one.

Swaddler

My got me this swaddler thing when she came down to help with Emmett. I have never had one of these before.

I didn't do much right when Ethan was a baby and I didn't swaddle Luke either. I swaddled Linz just with a blanket and now I use this with Emmett.

Can I just say that this thing is WONDERFUL!!!!!!

I HIGHLY recommend one of these to anyone having a baby. I have LOVED it SO much. I used it almost all day the first few days of Emmett's life. Now I only use it at night. I keep him all swaddled up while I feed him in the middle of the night. There has only been one night where Emmett hasn't gone right back to sleep after eating and that was the first night home from the hospital. (It seems like that is the norm with my kids though.)

I don't know if he is just a good kid and has the whole night/day thing figured out or if is this swaddler thing. I really think it helps to have him swaddled up - I've heard of lots of people doing this with their new babies so I thought I'd try it out on kid #4.

I know it looks like torture for the kid, but they really do like it and I think it helps them stay calm and sleep better and longer. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT. You should try it out on your next kid!!!!

Em's First Bottle

Emmett had his first bottle today. He took it right away and loved every drop of it. The kids LOVED to feed him. We had company over for dinner and I didn't get him fed before they got here so I fixed up a bottle and he gobbled it down!!! The kids have asked several times to feed him since and I LOVE the great helpers.
